Who it's for
You want exposure to future airdrops but don't want to lose more in fees and scams than you'll ever receive.
The setup
- Create a separate farming wallet. New recovery phrase, stored like your main one. This wallet signs everything new; your savings never touch it.
- Set a budget. Decide the maximum you'll deploy and the maximum you'll spend on fees per month.
- Bookmark every app you farm. Claim links only from official X accounts or our Airdrops page.
Pick farms you'd use anyway
The best farm is one where the underlying activity is worth it by itself:
- Lending stablecoins on a points-paying market (Loopscale, Project 0): you earn interest and points.
- Holding a yield product (Hylo sHYUSD, OnRe ONyc): yield plus points.
- Trading perps you'd trade anyway (Phoenix Frontier Traders until Nov 7, Pacifica, BULK): only if you'd make those trades regardless.
See current programs, effort and cost on the Airdrops page.
Track your costs
Keep a simple log: deposits, fees paid, points earned. If fees are bigger than any realistic airdrop, stop. Volume farming with wash trades usually loses money and gets slashed by sybil filters anyway.
What to expect
Most programs convert points at a ratio you'll only learn near launch, often with vesting. Some never launch a token. Count every reward as a bonus, never as income you're relying on.
Risks
- Phishing: fake claim pages are the top drainer. Never connect to links from DMs or replies.
- Smart contract risk in newer protocols.
- Fees that outweigh rewards.
- Sybil slashing if you use many wallets.
- Taxes on airdrops in many countries.
Exit plan
Withdraw from each app when the season ends or the rewards stop being worth it. Move claimed tokens to your main wallet only after checking them on Solscan.
